Bio
I have always been captivated by the dynamic relationships between person, place, and thing.
My fascination with understanding how people experience media guided me through my undergrad degrees in fine arts and digital humanities. During my undergrad degrees, I created immersive conceptual installations and studied digital anthropology and web design.
After undergrad I decided to continue growing my understanding of digital user experiences by pursing human-computer interaction. Since beginning the HCI MS program at DePaul I have gained hands-on experience uncovering, understanding, and helping digital products align with both end-user and business goals.
In my spare time I love upcycling furniture, reading fiction, and exploring the city.
My Process
I structure my projects using the double diamond design thinking model. The model iterates through five phases and fluctuates between divergent and convergent activities. I’ve found this model is referred to in many domains which helps multiple players approach projects with similar frames of mind.
I am a firm believer in failing fast, often, and early in order to reduce errors and costs in the later development phases. With this in mind, I advocate for the two beginning stages of the process Empathy and Define because I believe gaining a proper understanding of issues and user needs is crucial to a project’s future success.
